NAML
Background
for the "Rolling Road on the mountain"
The transportation of bulk material over multiple levels within the mine is one of the major problems international mining companies are facing.
The transport can take place from pits to a higher or lower level.

-
Trucks are personnel- and cost-intensive
-
Shafts clog and widen over time. Moreover, the bulk material is often further comminuted in shafts and thus the final particle size differs from its targeted fineness.
-
An external drop along the mining face is at best still state of the art in emerging countries
-
Conveyor systems are expensive and cannot transport ROM material.
-
Conventional cable cars are inflexible
